• You will be required to turn in cost tracking forms from every job.
• You will be expected to call locates at least 1 week in advance before the crew shows up to the job.
• As a company we are in business to make money. We are not here to have fun, to play games, to goof around, or to be friends across the board. If we aren’t making money, there is no reason to be in business. The target for each job is a 20% net profit. Less than 20% is not acceptable. As you learn the numbers of the company you will be required to meet this standard. Information pertaining the money amounts of jobs is only available for your eyes. Sharing this information with employees or other personnel that do not need to know, is in violation of customer privacy and will result in immediate consequences. Keeping track of your documents and making sure that only management sees the numbers is crucial to the success of the company.
• Set individual goals for your success on a monthly basis and report them.
• You will create and maintain a schedule for each crew under you that will consist of jobs, vacation, meetings, and anything else that might come up. You will also be expected to maintain the schedule you create.
• By the end of day Friday each week a materials order will need to be turned in so that the order can be processed.
• You will be expected to talk to the customer a lot. Informing them of the status of their job so that they can prepare accordingly.
• You will be expected to know the building requirements for any private, government, or commercial job that you might undertake. These requirements will vary job to job and from each area. Don’t ever assume that the next job is the same as the last job.
• If a customer uses us for construction of their fence, it is your responsibility to make sure that each customer feels like they were treated as if they were the only people on the planet. Each customer will leave interaction with Flying O feeling fulfilled and with no negative thoughts. This will be achieved only through constant communication and always striving to find ways to meet their needs. We always put the customer first, this does not mean that we do things for free. It simply means that no matter what their need is we can achieve it at a price, and we can work with them to fit their needs.
• Each employee in the crews under you needs to be able to come to you in confidence with any concerns or problems. Each one needs to feel a sense of appreciation, respect, and responsibility. It is your job to make sure that this happens.
• Each Month an equipment maintenance report will be expected from you. This will include up coming oil changes, break downs, preventative maintenance, and needs of future purchases for the crews.
• Cost Tracking is huge. You will be expected to cost track each job. Know exactly where every penny from the job was spent.
• At the end of every job, you will be expected to sign off on the job with a checklist. The customer will also be required to sign off on the completion of the job. This will require you to go to the job site after the job is complete and meet with the customer in person and sign off on the fence at the same time. It is important that we have both your signature and the customers signature on file for job completion.
Customer satisfaction is first and foremost, employee satisfaction comes next and is just as important as the customer satisfaction.
