A laborer is responsible for performing assigned laboring jobs such as loading and unloading material from trucks, operating various hand tools both powered and unpowered,
installing fence products as directed by the Foreman and/or crew leader, cleaning project site and yard area as directed, working with other members of the
crew to complete assigned tasks, and following all company safety policies. The job description may also include preparing the site by digging holes and trenches in which the
fencing will be positioned, joining, raising, and securing segments of the fence in place, checking for gaps and vulnerabilities in the fencing and correcting these if needed.
A Laborer will be focusing on completing tasks quickly that are assigned to them, this position overtime will have room for growth and can develop into our apprentice, journeyman, or operator positions.

What You'll NeedA journeyman is an experienced worker who generally works with installing, repairing, and maintaining all types and styles of fencing. They can work without major supervision from a foreman.
Most of the responsibilities will revolve around performing manual labor and providing value to the team by being efficient in the field. A journeyman should be able to trouble shoot immediate problems on the
job and will also have to know how to operate equipment around the job.
A journeyman will be focusing on personal growth a lot and completing those goals that will lead them to the next level. Continually striving to better their communication skills and mind control to
better serve the customer and the team.
An operator is experienced in the movements of equipment. Capable of safely handling equipment to complete the job in the most efficient way possible. An operator also needs to
know how to drive a semi, and have a license to do so, as their job will require them to haul equipment to and from the site in many situations. An operator should have a strong knowledge of the construction
of the fence, as there is many instances that help will be required in the construction of the fence.
Even though the operator spends a lot of time in equipment there will still be a large focus on your growth to achieve your potential. Operators need to have extreme mind control because the safety of the
crew is in their hands. For this reason, we strive to help develop the strength and tools needed to focus your mind on your job at hand.
As a Flying O Enterprise Project Manager you will be expected to manage all crew employees and do final inspection on installed fence lines and projects with the customer and sign off on them.
You will be expected to properly relay information to the foreman for each job. Do not divulge more information than what is needed for the job. Write up change orders for jobs and sign off on each one.
Cost track every job to make sure that we are always meeting margins. Call in all locates. Obtain construction permits as required (we require that customer gets this permit but every once in while this
responsibility will fall on you.) Know building requirements and specifications for each job. Schedule jobs and maintain the schedule. Approve and disapprove vacation time for any employee working under you.
Make sure the crews stay on schedule. Write up material orders. Make sure that the materials are all pulled for the job and ready well in advance to the job being started. This will
require very good communication with all parties involved. Map out the job, before the locates are called, with white flagging and white paint. Make sure that equipment maintenance is always being
kept up on and equipment is always clean. Maintain a proper code of conduct within the crews that are working under you, this will include a dress code, language, music, ext.
